About NASUWT

The NASUWT is the largest teachers' union in the UK and the only TUC-affiliated teachers’ union to represent teachers in England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The NASUWT organises in all sectors from early years to further education and represents teachers in all roles including heads and deputies. The NASUWT is politically independent and is deeply committed to working to influence the education policy and to protect and enhance the working lives of teachers.

The BT Paralympic World Cup has worked with the NASUWT since 2007, developing a partnership that has the principal aim of using the event to generate passion and interest in Paralympic Sport and to inspire the involvement of young people both in the North West region and nationally. This partnership has grown over the last five years and has been resoundingly successful in many ways.

Last year a record number of schools applied for complimentary tickets to the BT Paralympic World Cup. This resulted in more than 18,500 BT PWC tickets being distributed to schools around the country, who became inspired by their experiences at the event and used the online education tools provided to help bring Paralympic sport into their classrooms.
