The BT PWC Classroom Resources

All the resources available on our website are designed to bring this exciting event into your school whilst also fitting in with current curriculum guidelines and within teaching and inclusion best practice. They include teaching tools and activities to introduce the BT Paralympic World Cup into the classroom, school assembly or sports field, and aim to stimulate learning and interest around Paralympic Sport. The focus is to deliver a better understanding of ability, not disability, in relation to Sport. The resources are compiled as a journey using activities and opportunities which will be released through this website in the run up to, and at the BT Paralympic World Cup.

Introducing the BT PWC Powerpoint (introduces Paralympic Sport and the BT PWC event to your school in your classroom or assembly)
• Education Packs on our Sports. Each pack contains information and activities for use in Maths, Geography, Science, Sport and PHSE lessons)

Resources for Students to Explore

Look out for our Fun Zone (coming soon) where Students can learn more about Paralympic Sports and the BT PWC, which will include:
• Athlete Biographies
• Athlete of the Week – an opportunity for students to submit questions
• Faces behind the Games – profiling people who work at event
• A chance to invent a New Paralympic Game!
• Get Involved –download Flags, wallpapers and get behind your Team
• Competitions and Quizzes – including great prizes for your school

London 2012 recognises that because you’re attending the BT Paralympic World Cup,  you are among the schools that are the most excited about Paralympic sport and the Paralympic Values of courage, determination, equality and isnpiration.  

To reward you for your commitment, London 2012 wants to send you a plaque and certificate, and give you the right to use the London 2012 education logo. They’ll also give you access to exclusive rewards like tours of the Olympic Park, visits from athletes, PLUS you’ll be first in line to receive tickets to the London 2012 Games through the London 2012 Ticketshare initiative!

There are also a number of other education tools that can be used alongside the BT PWC resources:

• Ability vs Ability, NASUWT and ParalympicsGB’s, provides a number of cross curricular resources helping to integrate Paralympic learning into the classroom in an inclusive way

• Parasport project is designed not only to inspire, educate and inform but also to signpost people with a disability, and those interested in disability sport, to high quality opportunities through the

• playground to podium part of the Parasport scheme
