Channel 4 is delighted to be the host broadcaster covering the BT Paralympic World Cup which will take place in Manchester in May 2011. Channel 4 will provide the BT Paralympic World Cup with the strongest broadcast coverage and marketing support it has ever received on UK television. Channel 4 will combine a mix of programming on the main channel with online streaming and its television output will be greater than the coverage previously available in the UK.
Deborah Poulton, Sports Editor, Paralympics at Channel 4, said: “We are genuinely thrilled to be adding the BT Paralympic World Cup to our TV sporting schedules. This event provides us with a fantastic opportunity to increase awareness of the 2012 Paralympic Games, via a strong showcase of Athletics, Swimming, Wheelchair Basketball, Boccia, and Sitting Volleyball, which will help make the British viewing public the best informed and most engaged in the world. We believe the combination of online streaming and TV highlights coverage will attract new audiences to the BT Paralympic World Cup and give the event and its competitors the profile they deserve.”
