The NASUWT and BT Paralympic World Cup Education Partnership

History

The Paralympic World Cup has worked with NASUWT since 2007 developing a partnership that has the principal aim of using the BT Paralympic World Cup to generate passion and interest in the Paralympic Sport and to inspire the involvement of youngsters both in the North West region and nationally. This partnership has grown over the last three years and has been resoundingly successful in many ways.

Two years ago approximately 240 schools applied for complimentary tickets to the Paralympic World Cup. That number multiplied in 2008, and in 2009 a record number of tickets were sent out to the far corners of the UK for last year’s event!

In total over the last three years more than 15 thousand BT PWC tickets have been distributed  to schools around the country, who have since become inspired by their experiences at event and the online education tools provided that bring Paralympic sport into their classrooms.

For 2010 we want be able to offer schools more than ever, and this is where you can find out the details of what we’re offering in the run up to the event in May.

BT Paralympic World Cup Resources

We want your school to get the most out of the World Cup, so we’ve developed some tools to help introduce The BT Paralympic World Cup and our sports into your classroom. We have worked in conjunction with our Education Partner NASUWT to help children with a disability find a way into sport.

Details of how to bring the BT Paralympic World Cup to your school will go live here soon.

Competitions

Last year we gave school children the opportunity to design a good luck postcard for our athletes which we gave to them all at BTPWC 2009. This year we’re offering something a bit different that everyone can get involved in. Details will go live soon so keep watching to find out.

Sports Activities - Get Involved!

We will be publishing details of sports activities and competitions both in the Manchester area and around the UK that children can get involved in. Watch this area for details and we’ll show you how to get involved. If you have an event that you would like to feature on our website let us know – follow this link to contact us.
