For the first time in Paralympic World Cup history the Manchester Regional Athletics Arena will in 2010 host three sports: Athletics, Wheelchair Basketball and Football 7-a-side.

The Regional Arena is funded by Sport England and Manchester City Council. It was opened by the Mayor of Manchester in April 2002, prior to the Commonwealth Games. The building is currently being managed by Manchester Leisure and serves a variety of stakeholders including England Squash, the English Institute of Sport, Serco and UK Athletics.

The eight-lane, 400m outdoor track cost approximately £3.5m to build and can host all field events. With a seating capacity of 6000, the 360° stands overlook the entire athletics track providing a fantastic view of the action from the athletics competition.

The venue will then be transformed over-night in preparation for four days of Football 7-a-side which will take place in the centre of the track allowing spectators a great view of this fantastic sport.

The indoor track at the Arena will again play host to the Wheelchair Basketball competition. The track centre will be transformed to stage the four-day, world class competition and accommodate in excess of 500 spectators.
